RowPause Privacy Policy

RowPause is an offline project and pattern companion. It has no account system, developer-operated backend, advertising, tracking, third-party analytics or in-app purchases. The app does not transmit your project contents to the developer.

Information on your device

Titles, recorded row counts, sections, repeats, notes, reading positions, pinned work positions, checkpoints (including states saved before unpicking or restoring), imported PDFs and selected progress photos are stored in the app’s private local storage. Appearance and keep-awake preferences and the date of the last successful export are also stored locally. A corrupt database is preserved rather than silently deleted; restoring a backup in recovery mode creates a separate library.

Imported PDFs are copied into local storage. Downloading an original file from a cloud provider can require connectivity and is governed by that provider. RowPause does not synchronize projects between devices.

Photos and camera

Camera access is requested only when you choose Take a photo. You may decline and continue to use the app. The system photo picker gives RowPause access to the image you select without granting access to your entire photo library. Imported photos are resized to a maximum long edge of 2,048 pixels and re-encoded without location metadata. The app does not identify people or analyze knitting in images.

Backups and deletion

You can export a complete library or a single project to a location in Files, including a cloud drive you choose. These packages contain your project data and associated files. You control where they are stored and with whom they are shared. A manual cloud-file export is not automatic sync. Operating-system device backups may include app data according to your device settings.

Deleting a project removes it and its history from the active library. Attachments with no remaining references are eligible for cleanup at the next normal launch; files preserved for database recovery are retained. Exported backups remain independent copies and must be deleted separately. Uninstalling the app can remove local data; recovery is not guaranteed without a backup.

Support

If you email the developer, the information you choose to include is processed by the email providers involved. Please avoid sending private photos or copyrighted patterns unless necessary and you have permission to share them. RowPause does not automatically send diagnostic reports or attachments to the developer. Apple’s own device diagnostics and store services are governed by Apple’s policies.

This website

Opening the privacy or support website makes a request to the website host. The host may process network information needed to serve the page, such as an IP address. Your knitting projects, patterns and photos are not included in that request.

Changes
